About Greener Littleover
Greener Littleover is a Community Interest Company (CIC), proudly rooted in the heart of Derby and committed to protecting, enhancing, and celebrating our local green spaces. Founded with a simple yet powerful vision — to connect people through nature and empower our community to take environmental action — we work hand-in-hand with residents, schools, local organisations, and elected representatives to make Littleover greener, kinder, and more resilient.

As a registered CIC (Company No. 15230266), our purpose is not profit, but impact. Every project, event, and campaign we run is designed to serve the community, safeguard and enjoy the natural places we love — from the tranquil paths of Millennium Woods to the waterside charm of Sunnydale Local Nature Reserve.

What We Do
-
Community-led Advocacy: We speak up for green spaces under threat, rallying support through petitions, awareness campaigns, and direct outreach.
-
Nature-based Events: From seasonal celebrations to bioblitzes and nature walks, we foster meaningful connections with the outdoors for all ages.
-
Collaborative Partnerships: Working closely with residents, schools, MPs, and other local groups, we build coalitions that amplify our shared goals.
-
Education & Engagement: Through creative social media content, school programmes, and public talks, we help shape a culture of care and sustainability.
-
Infrastructure & Inclusion: We’re committed to making green spaces accessible, inclusive, and welcoming, balancing environmental protection with community needs.

Celebrating Community & Climate Action
Among our proudest initiatives are Derby West Great Big Green Week and its vibrant sibling, Derby West Great Little Green Week — annual flagship events that bring our community together in celebration of climate action, local sustainability and enjoying our outdoor spaces. These weeks are a lively mix of workshops, nature walks, arts, eco-stalls, and hands-on activities designed to engage all ages. From seed swaps to storytelling, and pond dips to pop-up exhibits, we aim to create space for connection, learning, and joy — all with an environmental twist. These events also give a platform to local voices, ideas, and businesses, reaffirming Littleover's role as a hub for creative and collective action.
