Join Us for the Great British Spring Clean!

This spring, let’s make Littleover, Blagreaves, and Mickleover sparkle! The Great British Spring Clean is all about coming together—families, schools, local groups, and businesses—to give our streets, parks, and green spaces a fresh start.

Why it matters

  • Litter isn’t just unsightly—it harms wildlife. Every year, thousands of animals are injured or killed by litter in the UK.

  • Clean spaces boost wellbeing. Research shows that spending time outdoors and in tidy green spaces can reduce stress and improve mood.

  • Community pride grows. Areas free from litter feel safer and more welcoming, encouraging people to spend time outdoors.

Did you know?

  • Nearly 30% of people say litter makes them feel anxious or frustrated (Keep Britain Tidy).

  • Over 2 million pieces of litter are dropped every day in the UK.

  • Volunteering outdoors can help you feel more connected—to nature and to your neighbours.

Safety First

Your safety is our priority. Risk assessments are in place, and insurance is covered for all volunteers. We’ll provide clear guidance so you can litter-pick with confidence.

We’ve Got You Covered

No need to bring anything! We’ll supply litter-picking equipment, bags, and hi-vis vests. Just wear comfy shoes and bring your enthusiasm.  If you have gloves we recommend bringing those too.
