Littleover Great Big Green Week 2026: Growing Greener, Together

After the incredible energy and impact of 2025, Littleover Great Big Green Week is back and bigger than ever! In 2026, we’re branching out beyond Littleover, weaving a vibrant tapestry of climate action and community spirit across Derby West.

 

From grassroots changemakers to local legends, we’re building stronger links with organisations, schools, and community groups to make this year’s celebration truly unforgettable.

During the week in 2025, we welcomed over 800 participants to nature walks, eco-crafting, and sustainability workshops over 42 events.  The enthusiasm was contagious and 2026 promises even more!

​

To enable more families and children to be involved we are also launching Derby West Great Little Green Week during May Half Term for extra family friendly events.

We'd love you to get involved

We’re building an inspiring programme for Great Little Green Week and Great Big Green Week, and we’d love to include your event. Whether you’re a community group, school, business, charity, or a passionate resident, this is your chance to help people connect with nature, enjoy the outdoors, and celebrate the brilliant green spaces we share.

​

We are especially keen to promote events happening in the west of Derby City, particularly those that encourage people to be active outside rather than indoors, learn about nature, and enjoy the wellbeing benefits of spending time outdoors. We’re also committed to making as many events as possible accessible to carers and to people who don’t always get the chance to get out and about, so activities that support inclusion and gentle participation are very welcome.

Your event only needs to meet one or more of the aims of our themed weeks:

Great Big Green Week – A Community Week to:

• Step Outside for Wellbeing

• Explore Nature

• Safeguard a Sustainable Future

We’re keen for groups, organisations, and community partners to use this opportunity to come together, showcase what they do, and connect with new audiences across the west of Derby City. Great Big Green Week and Great Little Green Week are all about celebrating community action, nature, and wellbeing — but please note that we’re unable to include events in our calendar that promote, support, or help fund any political party. We remain completely unaffiliated to all political parties to ensure the programme stays open, inclusive, and welcoming to everyone.
