We're Supporting Parkinson's UK

Ernie the Cockapoo

Greener Littleover is proud to be organising a 5-mile nature walk through Littleover and Blagreaves Parks in support of Parkinson’s UK. This is more than just a scenic stroll—it’s a chance for our community (both two-legged and four-pawed!) to come together, enjoy local green spaces, and raise funds for a cause that hits close to home.

Parkinson’s is a rubbish condition—progressive, life-changing, and still without a cure.   It brings many restrictions to daily life because of its progressive symptoms. Simple tasks like walking, dressing, eating, and bathing can become slow and difficult due to tremors, stiffness, and loss of balance. People often experience fatigue, sleep problems, and changes in speech, which can make socialising and working harder. These challenges can lead to a loss of independence and require extra support or adaptations at home to stay safe and active.

We have chosen to support this national organisation as Ali has a relative living with Parkinson’s and knows first-hand the vital role specialist nurses play in supporting individuals and families. By walking together, we aim to raise funds that help keep those services going strong.

Bring your walking boots, bring your dogs, bring your heart. Let’s walk for nature, walk for compassion, and walk for change.
